BIO

Isabelle Reitze is an emerging artist and educator based in Boorloo. She recently graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Conservation Biology and Fine Art . She has worked as an art educator at the Children's School of Contemporary Art since 2018. Alongside her practice and career in education Reitze is Co-Founder and Head of Public Outreach at Licorice Zine.

Reitze's evolving practice bridges biological sciences and fine arts, illuminating intersectional perspectives on environment and gender. Her speculative approach utilises biological materials, ceramics, textiles and metal crafts to construct sculptural installations and performance works. She is also well versed in photographic and print mediums. She is now looking for opportunities to collaborate with other creatives and bring her work into the public sphere.
